During the visit at the Omega Park, it was very interesting and a pleasure to observe a complex interaction between the mother, this youngster and the father.
It was a male but I'm not sure it was the father !! Clearly the mother tried to catch this youngster by the neck to bring him (or her)
somewhere to teach him a specific behavior which was "standing in front of a tree". I think this is an important behavior for bears.
During this "teaching activity", the youngster always escape from his mother's paw till a moment where the big male came out of a cavern to rescue the mother !!
He took firmly the youngster with his big paw and bring him beside a tree, make him stand for a few seconds and went back to the cavern.
It was a sort of Father knows best !! And then the female went to rest ( it's my interpretation ) as you can see her at the next photos.
I like those pictures because they remind me so much Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Thank you to look at them and I hope you'll have pleasure. I had a real pleasure to shoot these photos.
