I've moved on from my Canon 20D to a 7D. I no longer own the 2X teleconverter that I used in the older moon pictures. This one is only at 500mm, but the 7D's 18mp sensor allows for much more detail so this is a cropped version (and further downsized to 1200 x 800).
Fiddled with this one quite a bit in processing trying to find a good combination of detail and exposure. Finally opted to underexpose it a little so that the detail in the lower right quarter of the moon came through. Thought about stacking a couple of other exposures on top, but all in all, I thought it was pretty impressive as-is (and I'm lazy) so I'm leaving it!
The Sigma 50-500 lens comes up every now and then as something I could sell and use the money towards maybe a Canon 100-400 "L"... It keeps redeeming itself though, so I guess I'll hang onto it!
