Concorde accelerating.jpg

Dulles to Heathrow

The Concorde configuration was two seats either side and I think I was in 2A or 3A on that flight.
The cabin was similar in configuration to a DC9 (for those old enough to remember!!).
I wanted to get a pic of the Mach Meter or air speed indicator on the bulkhead in centre picture.
Try as I might I cannot tell what speed we were at altho it was somewhere between Mach 1 and 2 or over the speed of sound but under twice the speed.
It was also possible, as the Concorde flew higher and burnt off fuel, to see the slight curvature of the earth from the 65000ft operating altitude.
A magic machine. Great shame they broke one.
