The "Tablas de Daimiel National Park"
is a nature reserve of nearly 2 hectares (5 acres):
a wetland in an arid part of Spain.
The European Union has designated it
a Special Protection Area For Birds;
the Unesco includes it in its list of Biosphere Reserves.
After some years of relative drought
–mainly due to overexploitation–
it's now, after heavier rainfall
and an emergency transfer
of water from the Tagus river,
in great splendor again.
