Beewolf, female

Beewolf (wasp), Philanthus multimaculatus, female

Beewolf wasps sting and paralyze bees to line their nests. They feed on nectar, and this
species would appear to collect pollen, but that is not the case. The accumulation of
pollen all over her underparts is incidental, according to BugGuide.net. Supporting the
incidental theory is the fact that the male also gets covered with pollen while feeding,
and male wasps never do anything to provision the nest or support the brood.

Philanthus = flower-loving; multimaculatus = multi-spotted
