We got up early and left at 4:30 in the end. The fog was extremely thick and it was very difficult to drive faster than about 20 km per hour. Luckily it cleared up just after Namibe, where we have stopped to fill up diesel.
The 1000 or so kilometers to Luanda would take us 16 hours in the end. This is the only photo that I took on the day because we didn´´t want to waste too much time. The road over Dombe Grande was very beautifull but it took us about 7 hours to cover the section from Flamingo Lodge to Lobito. In the end it all worked out well and my wife could get new insuline from the fridge at home. The next day we unpacked and cleaned everything. The following we backtracked again to Sumbe to visit the cave that I have been to before but not the rest of the family. You can go and look at the photos I took duringmy pervious visit at this link http://www.pbase.com/lirritma/sumbe .
A memroble trip of 3 500km came to and end. I want to thank my friend Paul who helped us with planning our routes, for him and his family joining us for the first week of the trip, GPS and Google Earth technology, all the namy Angolans we have met along the way and who were always more than willing to help and to my wife who agreed to doing the trip eventhough she is not that keen on camping. Lastely to our Maker for the beatifull creation that we are living in.
We saw Angola like most Angolans have not even been able to do in their lives yet. It is a country with awesome beauty and very friendly people and this was not our last trip in it.
