Thunderbolts & Lightning - From Gouldings Lodge Monument Valley

My lad and I came to the conclusion that family holidays are not the occasions to have great designs on capturing 'the picture' - rather than holiday snaps. So every opportunity that doesn't impinge on the rest of family must be taken. This was 3:00am in the morning from our hotel balcony. The evening before we had to sit at the dinner table watching the most amazing sunset - but wasn't allowed out to play. Later in the week my daughter was heard to say "note to self - don't marry a photographer"

That's incredible Chris, even I'd get up in the middle of the night for that!

Wow! Frame it! Echo your sentiments about family holidays and photography - I usually see mine disappearing into the distance when I've finished taking a shot. V

I'm glad I'm no longer married! I could not sit through an even mediocre sunset without some sort of response, even if only a cell phone! This early morning shot is amazing. Very well done.

This is just fabulous! What a fantastic colour to the sky, and you've captured those bolts superbly...V+ (BTW, I totally agree with you about photography and family holidays - they sometimes clash!! I need to get back to the States alone and photograph everything I missed :o))
