We had a delightful family of Coyote's living behind and in our "Goat Barn", (converted into a tool shop), during the month of May this year.
The family consisted of the Mom and Pop, and three delightfully entertaining cubs. Since hunting Coyotes has no season here in Florida,
I waited until now, (the middle of August), to post the images. It is considered "great sport" to hunt and shoot these magnificent animals.
Though they are often mistaken for grey foxes here in North Florida, they are much larger. This Dad is well over 2 1/2 feet tall and probably
weighs around 35 to 40 pounds although it's difficult to judge sizes in a photograph.
Much to my surprise, I learned that every state in the U.S. has Coyotes. This one is called an Eastern Grey Coyote.
