The bell tower of Santa Maria della Pieve

Arezzo - Tuscany (Italy)

Can you see the nice bell tower on my back?
It’s the one of the church of Santa Maria della Pieve, the most beautiful Romanic church of all Arezzo area. They started building the church in 12th century (can you imagine that?
Even Aunt Violet was not born then yet...grin, grin...).

The 36m (118-ft.) bell tower "of the hundred holes," with its bifore windows (mullioned windows with two lights), is a 1330 addition.
The bell tower is the symbol of the town of Arezzo.
