My inexperience showed with this catch.It closely resembled a sea bass,so I called it as such.I was told,it's a Mullet.As they pulled it from the nets,I was told they had to be careful with it,as it was very spikey,the fins especially.It weighed a ton,but they said there was no demand for it,so they'd throw it back.I took pity upon it,topped and tailed it,de-scaled it and it's now frozen in my freezer,whilst I work out how to cook it.In Romford Market,last Saturday,07/08/10,mullet,small ones,were selling,whole,at £3.30 per kg.
