Lavender Twilight

Valensole, Provence, France

Converging lines of scented blue lavender flowers, the heady scent throbbing and buzzing with a billion bees oblivious of my presence. Only at sunset did they begin to quieten but the still air just added to the lingering perfume as the sun stained the clouds orange at dusk. This was the only field I found that lined up with either sunrise or sunset the orientation of many had changes from previous years.

Wow!! We keep saying we have to go back to France when the lavender is blooming. Now I know why.
