Waiting for the storm....

Canton Vaud (Switzerland)

Weather is a great metaphor for life - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, and there's nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella and time is a storm in which we are all lost.

Lord Byron said poetically:

“Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life.
The evening beam that smiles the clouds away,
and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.”

I’m neither a poet, nor a smart lady...

I like the wind, the dark cloud rolling over the sky like restive rams.
I like the hope of a refreshing rain ready to fight the hot army of summer.

C'est vraiment une superbe photo à la fois lumineuse et puissante. Elle me fait penser à un tableau de Maurice d Vlaminck...C'est dire. Vote

Such a dramatic sky! And the lightening, sweet. You can really feel the storm coming on in this pix, great shot.

You have a very threatening dark sky, and the touch of lightning emphasises the arrival of a storm. I like the fields and houses at the bottom, which, in contrast, see calm and prepared. Well done.

looks like you caught some lightning!...beautiful shot,,,V

The light on the distant houses is delightful, and the effect is amplified by the drama in the clouds. This is a very well done image. ~V~

It is easy to be impressed by the clouds, but I find the contrast of the broad shapes of the skies with the foreground detail the element that makes this image especially appealing.

You've captured a moment of the drama of nature. I do hope that you had an umbrella ~vote~

Storm laden, rain laden clouds: they should bring some much needed refreshment to the atmosphere.
