I Witnessed A Birth Today...

...of a round hay bale! As I was driving down this country road I saw this farmer out there and then I realized what was going on. He gathers up the hay and I'm guessing it gets wound up inside that box and then he stops and "plop" out comes the round hay bale. I had never seen how a round hay bale was made so I thought this was pretty cool!

Looks like she might be expecting a multiple birth, Patti! ;o)

Nice find Patti; I spend a significant amount of time this afternoon trying to find just this shot. The hay here is cut but no-one is baling yet.

It will be a few months before our farmers begin this ritual...It is cool to watch!

Plenty of round bales around here too although I'm old enough to remember helping to put the hay into rows
before the arrival of the baler which in those days produced small rectangle-shaped bales.

Nice capture of a very familiar sight to us that live in the heart of farm country. V

That is cool. Neat how they do that!

It sure is cool, a lot of the farms use the round bale today as it is so much more efficient than the square bales. Nice catch Patti. I can't say I've actually seen the birth yet but now I'll have to keep my eyes open!
