Technically, I didn't find this small moth in my garden but rather inside my house! I caught it and placed it in the flower box on my deck railing, then took some pictures.
Its presence on my property ceased to be a mystery when I read that its larvae feed on smartweed, a weed I have recently discovered growing in my own garden.
