I must admit I have never seen a glider like this - rather ingenious, the small engine folds back down into the fuselage after take off. I was going to crop out the wind sock, but thought better of it.
Sail boats have engines, why not gliders with engines too.
A bit like coasting in a car in neutral.
Perhaps this would be a serious low energy form of transport.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Now I know what I heard and saw up Deeside last weekend - a glider and the noise of a tow plane - but no tow plane in sight. Is it cheating? Do they power up the engine when no one is looking? (The gliding equivalent of using the clone tool in Photoshop?) Good call to leave the windsock where it is.
