The Mint, Macquarie St, Sydney

When Governor Macquarie arrived as governor of NSW in 1810 rum was the prevailing currency. Macquarie introduced coinage to Australia and overcame the shortage of currency by purchasing Spanish silver dollars, punching out the centre and creating two coins, known as the "Holey Dollar" and the Dump. During the Macquarie Visions the Mint building celebrated the "Common Wealth" of the nation.

Great pic. Great info. You forgot to mention the light projections - if that is what they are. What are the "Macquarie Visions"?
