White Admiral (Limenitis arthemis)

I see White Admirals almost every time I go out during their flight season, but until today I never noticed that they have faint eyespot-like markings along the margin of their forewings. They are just barely visible in this photo but very striking in the field. The angle of lighting on this individual was just right to show these markings and show a bluish iridescence on the body, which also was more striking in the field than shown in this photo.
