Roseberry Topping

On Wednesday I took myself for a walk up to Roseberry Topping and onto Captain Cooks monument. This took my mind off things when my Mother went in for her 6 hour Heart Opp. I approached the hill from the opposite side this time, as you can see the weather was very kind. (The sky is desaturated in Photoshop to take some of the blue off it.

Thanks for all the well wishes from all of you on PBase. Sorry my commenting is a little Thin on the ground, I'm sure I don't have to explain the reasons. Have a good weekend everyone.

Oh, and a little P.S.

I did find out more about the name of this place. For anyone interested please read on.

"Topping", is from the old danish word "Toppen" meaning Hill top. "Roseberry" came from Old Norse Óðins bjarg ("Odin's rock or crag"), after the Norse god Odin.[3] The name changed successively to Othensberg, Ohenseberg, Ounsberry and Ouesberry before finally settling on Roseberry. How they know this, I have no idea.

When I went up we were told that in living memory people can remember it looking completely different because the side only fell off in 1914, of course thats 96 years ago now which shows how long it is since I was there.
