Laura Milholland

San Rafael, CA

This beautiful Pacific Gopher Snake showed up on the front walk at my father-in-law's.
He was about 4 feet long! Considered a harmless and docile snake
although he did flatten his head and hiss, doing his rattler imitation
before we relocated him to the nearby hill.
Three additional shots to view: http://www.pbase.com/milholland_l/image/125521602 (and next two)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18

other sizes: small medium original auto

Gopher snakes are good - they eat little critters that often try to get into houses (as well as gophers)! -Walt

Oh! And a good capture (pun intended) of the snake.
