In 1962 Five Boeing 377s were purchased by Israeli Aircraft Industry (IAI) from Pan Am
and were converted into a military cargo configuration,
with side clamshell doors and a military style tail that swung open.
The Stratocruisers served with the 120th IAF "International" squadron out of Ben Gurion International Airport.
The Stratocruiser on exhibit has been converted into an "indoor" mini-museum,
and has several artifacts and displays inside the fuselage.
