A series of four ladders ascends 140 feet (fourteen stories!) above the valley floor to a kiva (underground ceremonial chamber) hidden within a cave. Yes, we both made it to the top! This, the 2nd ladder, is the scariest as it is tilted slightly outwards away from the rock wall. The rungs of the ladders are worn completely smooth from all of the traffic they receive. The ladders are secured to the cliff face, but other than that, there are no safety features to help keep you on them!
