Ok, here is my work around....
I first played with the curve using layers to get the colour.
Saved the file..
opened the original again in raw.. used the balck to +7 used the brush to bring out the over exposed street.

Opened the 1st file. Lyered to the 2nd photo, erased the unwated..

Maybe I shouls have left the front shadow wall a bit darker..
I did remove some extra wires etc in cs5.. looks a bit messy.
