Poor Babes in the Woods

Lafreniere Park

If I could find the people who dropped off the baby rabbits in the Park, I would have them arrested. These were probably Easter gifts to children. They are not wild rabbits but "breeders rabbits" and were taken from their mothers too young. Rabbits are delicate creatures with delicate digestive tracts.
These poor babies will have a hard time surviving. There are about 15 of them. The closely clipped grass of the Park does not leave much in the way of nutrition for them, plus they must put up with wild children, dogs and, worse of all, people who have no respect for life.

People who do this should be lost in the forest for a while to see what it's like.

That's a sad sad sight, Coleen. Dumped cats are a problem here...they become feral & eat our tiny wildlife.

Makes me sick how some people could give a rat's behind about their pets :-(

I was wondering if the SPCA would have any interest in this.

goodness me, I wouldn't have thought the albino rabbit would have much chance against predators. How could someone be so callous as to just dump these rabbits?

That's a problem everywhere! Kids want them 'cause their "cute" and then tire of them quickly and it's so much easier to drop them somewhere rather than drop them off responsibly at a shelter! (not that they can care for them easily)

Cute as a bunny Coleen!

Coleen, you are breaking my heart. I wish that you would rescue these little sweeties! (of course, they would chew you out of house and home.....).
Is there a rabbit rescue in your area that you could take them to? Hopefully they would be adopted by some loving families.
Voted!
