Jared Andrew Stobbs

I really had some mixed feelings about posting this, but in my own way it helps.
Jared is my middle son and was diagnosed on April 26th 1988 with Cystic Fibrosis, I can still remember that day in the hospital with him bundled up in blankets and a snowsuit for his "Sweat Chloride" test's. When we got the news he had C.F. it changed life forever.
Trips to the doctor, medication, clinic & therapy were the norm. Jared went along with things for the most part and nightly therapy would put him to sleep, as he just got used to it. Jared "Gino" to his friends was the life of the party and made the most of his time.
While we sometimes never saw eye to eye I never stopped loving him. Jared spent the last two weeks in hospital trying to fight off this last round of infections, he lost his battle at 4:30am on May 5th 2010 with family and a few close friends at his side.......
Jared we will miss you deeply and will always love you.....Godspeed be with you......Dad...
He loved this song.................and it seems fitting........

Float On .. by Modest Mouse

I backed my car into a cop car, the other day.
Well he just drove off, sometimes life's ok.
I ran my mouth off a bit too much, oh what did I say.
Well you just laughed it off, it was all ok.

And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on any way, well.

A fake Jamaican took every last dime with a scam.
It was worth it just to learn some sleight-of-hand.
Bad news comes don't you worry even when it lands.
Good news will work its way to all them plans.
We both got fired on exactly the same day.
Well we'll float on good news is on the way.

And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, alright.
Already we'll all float on.
No, don't you worry, we'll all float on.
Alright, already, we'll all float on.
Alright, don't worry, we'll all float on.

Alright already we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on.
Alright don't worry even if things end up a bit too heavy.
We'll all float on...alright. Already we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on, ok.
Don't worry we'll all float on.
Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on.

Alright already we'll all float on.
(Alright)
Don't you worry we'll all float on.
(Alright)
All float on....

Dear Mike;

My sincere condolences on your loss of Jared. His photo shows a fine young man; thank-you for sharing it and the song he loved. I, too, remember the CF diagnosis of my middle son (just 9 months older than Jared) and how it changed the lives of our family, as had the lives and deaths of two of my cousins from CF before my son was born. I will continue to fight for a control or cure for this disease, now with Jared in my thoughts, and in his honour. Love and strength to you and to the rest of Jared's family and friends who love him and miss him.

Mike - I am so sorry for your loss and for your family's loss. The death of someone so close is always hard to take, but at such a young age it is so much worse. Having a daughter in this same age group, that I worry about constantly, this kind of thing really hits home and makes you try to imagine the unimaginable. Hope this time of sorrow passes as quickly as possible. God bless you and your family.

I had no idea Mike. He has your eyes. I never know what to say at times like these but perhaps this summer we can get together and just shoot, maybe talk. Thinking of you.

Mike, I have only gotten to hang out with you doing photos a couple of times and in a time like this one does not need to know the family well to feel all the loses in ones one life. I can only say take care of you and your family in this time of sorrow and lose. My heart is saddened.
