Shunting in the Street! The meter-gauge heritage tramway between Taksim and Tünel in Beyoglu on the European side of Istanbul was opened in 1990. The rolling stock, dating from the early 20th century, comes from the original Istanbul tram systems which closed in 1966. There is no turning loop at the Tünel terminus, so tram sets are shunted in the street there.
