A Coopers Hawk flew into a wooded area and perched 15 feet away from a Long-eared owl. The owl went from a sleeping state to eyes wide open with nictating membrane visible. Its eyes were as big as I've ever seen them. Didn't get the shot as camera was on timer delay. The hawk flew away after checking up on its neighbour ("we know you're around buddy") and the owl went right back to sleep.
