This shot is from the second anti-war protest and march that took place through the streets in Augusta, Maine's capital, a month after the U.S. attacked Iraq. The first protest and march, held in the rain, was in October 2002 and had drawn over 3,000 protesting the buildup to the war. The 2003 permitted anti-war march also drew a few dozen pro-war supporters who stood on the sidewalk while the hundreds of protesters walked past them. Police were on hand to make sure that only words were thrown at the protesters.

I would like to know more about this shot. Veterans showing contempt are unusual in my experience. Strong and dramatic lighting. The flag in the background is an important feature. I wish there was more of it. Nicely captured. - CameraShy09
