It came out some time ago but I have only recently managed to get myself a copy of this quite
wonderful book by Leah Bendavid-Val on the great National Geographic photographs. The point of
this picture was the texture of the dust cover as lit by my computer monitor. There is no copyright
message on this image as I didn't want anyone to think I was claiming that fantastic picture on the
dustcover which Steve McCurry shot at the Afghan border back in 1984. He famously went back to find
this girl, 17 years later and succeeded in doing so. The picture of her as an adult, is on the BACK
of the dustcover. If you haven't got a copy of this book, go get one. It is published by National Geographic.
