the sign reads Only with peace can peace be made. she is just one of three supporting the left point of view while across the street there are at least seven people with signs supporting the actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. I note with interest the lady is standing under a no right turn sign LoL.

What a find! Although this is a low cost campaign, she's well protected against the elements! LOL Great graphic strenght, and I like how her black shape stands out from the clear background. endika

lol Shirley this left vs right battle on main street has gone on since the Iraq war stated, every Friday afternoon both sides are out with their signs. I think you are right about the no right turn sign. the people on the right were not as interesting as the left maybe next time I will photograph them except the sun is in the way. Catman

This strong graphical image with clean lines and limited colors is very effective. For me, the umbrella and its shadow are the crowning touch. Excellent shot, Richard. --Stefan

LOL I love the sign! I should say the 'signs' and I have a funny feeling she was very concious of the sign above her and planted herself appropriately beside it. Us peace lovin' folks are clever that way. HA!
