Harns Marsh Preserve

It is believed that the non-indigenous channeled apple snail was introduced to Florida in the late
1970's or early 1980's where it may be crowding out the native Florida apple snail whose eggs are white.
Either species of snail are a food source for the Snail Kite. I've observed or been told of the
kite's presence at Harns Marsh Preserve on a very visit I've made to it.
