Out for a day-long walk with a work colleague today - lunch was in the very hospitable and highly recommended Swann Inn in Birlingham. On our way back, we found ourselves in the 12th century St. James Parish Church which was heavily rebuilt in 1872. That notwithstanding, it's a super little church to while away half-an hour with the camera...
I was struck by the orderliness of the stacked hymnaries and prayer books on the back of the pews - the repetition of red and black against the rich and warm hues of the wood is quite eye-catching
