I have strict ORDERS to keep away from the #@%%##@@@!!! Birdsville Track... lol

But I must admit to getting back on the beast as soon as the bones mended sufficiently.
Thanks for your comments Techo. ~ Regards Bob

ouch! well it's good you made it out. That's quite an adventure you had.
It's a fine capture you have of the pit stop area. Nice details and golden colors.
Did you since go on the road trip again?

Thanks Alexeig and turidia, yes I am in a number of clubs, most active in the BMW MCC of Victoria (approx 1,000 members) and the 'old farts' club... called the Ulysses Club with more than 40,000 members.

The guys/bikes in this photo are all members of the BMWMCC. My bike is the front extreme left bike loaded with far too much gear. But... must carry at least 8 litres of water and 30 litres of fuel to get to the next fuel stop in the desert plus food, tools, sleeping gear etc..

We had ridden over 1100Km to this point and were less than one third of the way to our destination. I unfortunately finished the trip in an air ambulance nursing a broken neck and a broken leg. Wasn't quite as much fun that way?

Cerrrrrtainly was, but you would think it easy to find a soft spot to pitch the tent?

Hmmmm... maybe that is why I came to grief next morning? Not the dromedaries, the roos or the bull dust and parched dried wheel craters... but the lack of sleep?

Looks like a wonderful trip Bob. Excellent image and central Australia is about as dry as it gets. Regards, Michael
