Looking North across the Salton Sea toward San Jacinto Peak from Bombay Beach.
At 10,834 feet (3,302 m), is the highest peak of the San Jacinto Mountains and the 6th highest in the 48 contiguous States.
The elevation difference is over 11,100 feet (3,300 m) in this photo at a distance of 60 miles (100 km).
On the day this was taken it was about 80F (27C) in Bombay Beach and there were over 3 feet of snow (1 meter) on top of the peak.
