Bald Eagles build their nests in tall trees (usually pine) or on cliffs, and locate them near large bodies of water. The female lays 1-3 eggs, with a usual clutch of 2 eggs. The eggs are incubated for approximately 35 days. The young eagles fledge 10-12 weeks after hatching. Bald Eagles become sexually mature at 5-6 years of age, maturity corresponding with white head and tail plumage.
