Although the ovipositor is not visible in this photo, it is quite short in Ichneumoninae, and the fact that this is a female is indicated by the stockiness of the abdomen. This might be a female of Ichneumon or a genus close to it, in which case the male would often have a strikingly different kind of coloration. Also, in the male, the flagellum would be more slender and more tapered apically.
