28-JAN-2010 Rita Kent

Doors Galore

William Henry Fox Talbot invented salted paper printing in 18 . This was the first process
to successfully stabilize captured photographic images. My most recent photographs merge
Talbot’s nineteenth century chemistry with twenty-first century technology—a digital negative
exposed onto a sheet of sensitized paper placed inside a time controlled light box. Water and
gold toning do the rest.
