The cosmetology business is a multi-million dollar business that doesn’t slow down even in
times of recession. It is all about taking reality and creating illusion, making women as lovely
‘as a dream.’ Women want it, men want it. I loved the imagination, creativity, skill, and
dreamwork that was happening when I photographed the International Chicago Hairshow
in 2007. Reality transformed to dream there, and dreams to reality.

Carol L. Peachee is a psychotherapist and photographer who uses photographic art to
wake up and calm down. She is particularly interested in the process of contemplative photography
and mindfulness, and is a student of Miksang photographic processes.
