Lt. Col. Charles Sargent (the father of Charlene Kiley) honors F. Griggs with the Bronce Star. It is not known when exactly this shot was taken. I think it was also in January 1945.
The 455th AAA HQ was in Bouzonville, France at this time and the Battery "A" was Headquartered nearby Ittersdorf. Capt. James Parsons, C.O. of Battery 'A' stands at the right. He drove to the crash site in his Jeep and retrieved items such as the tail wheel of the plane, which had been torn off in the landing and took them to Lt. Col. Sargent, as tangible 'proof' of the shootdown.
