Changing Limbs

Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

I watched, fascinated, as this immature bald eagle moved from branch to branch as it worked itself
around the trunk of this tree. Once it was facing in the opposite direction it sat for a few
moments before flying off across the field. Bald Eagle facts: Immature birds of this species are a
mottled brown, with more patches of white appearing as the young eagle matures. Young birds have
yellow feet like adults, but their beaks are grayish and the eyes are brown. Because of their brown
coloring, immature Bald Eagles may be mistaken for Golden Eagles—distinguishing features include
feathered legs on the Golden Eagle and mottled white colouring on the young Bald Eagle. ~ Hinterland Who's Who

Terrific image with a catch light in the eyes and then an 'eye' on the branch at the same level. V
