Blue gum over palladium
Dreams catch us in sleep and sometimes when we are awake.
They enrich, mystify, and enlarge our perspective. Sometimes
we even capture their essence in our work. These images bring
the feeling of confinement and release through blue blurs at
an abandoned prison in Santa Fe, NM.
SHORT BIO ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rene Hales started photographing
using 35mm film in 1990. She has progressed to work incorporating
digital elements, but has returned in part to the darkroom to
add hands-on elements to her images. Ms. Hales feels that part
of the joy of creating the images is getting your hands in the
process. Recent work has appeared in a two-person show, “Botanicals”,
at the M. S. Rezny Gallery in Lexington (2009). She also sponsored
an Alternative Processes Photography Exhibition at the Berea Arts Council in 2009.
