This is the Pine Island beach :-) Being from Grand Haven, where there are real beaches, they all got a laugh out of our postage stamp beach. Pine Island has a motto "no beaches, no high rises, and no see ems" no see ems are little knats that are so small you can hardly see them, but they have HUGE teeth and you can really see them. We were not bothered by them at this time of the yr because it is too cold. They come out at dusk when the weather turns hot.
This is the inter coastal waters , part of the Gulf of Mexico.
