Painted Isle

Loch Awe, Assynt, Scotland

Loch Awe is a very lovely location at the best of times but in Autumn it really is quite spectacularly colourful. The theatrical lighting caused by the heavy glowering sky and imminent autumnal squall in combination with intense late afternoon sunlight, creates layers of painted colour with the island spectacularly resolved into a blaze of autumnal colour.

Lovely feel - the light, the colour and you can sense the wind blowing across the Loch

The light makes it very beautiful. It looks quite windy out on the water, too. Well done.
