St. Gabriel Church and Cemetery

St. Gabriel, Louisiana

Founded and built in 1774 by Acadians who had been displaced by the British from Nova Scotia.
This is not the original style of the Church, it was amended from a style with an overhanging roof and a gallery all around. However, the bones are still the same.
It is the oldest standing church in the Mississippi River Valley

other sizes: small medium large original auto

My Grandfather Edward Johnson, Sr. worked these acres for many, many, many years before retiring and was PROUD to say is was his place of work.

This is perfect. Love your composition and how the tree mimics the steeple. Love old white churches. Reminds me of a few hymns. Good job, girl! V
