Downy Woodpecker, female

A few days ago, Jeewanthi photographed a male downy on the feeder. Today it was the turn of the female.

I am not quite familiar with the Downy woodpecker. Is the downy layer the soft feathers on its' belly and the sides?

Wonderful detail and very obviousy why the name "Downy" was added to her name. You can really get a good look at all the downy layer. Beautiful. Vote :)
