What a nice set of images ... this is another bird I have never seen, although we have the Downy, the Hairy, and the Pileated Woodpeckers in our backyard quite often. ~V~

A bird waterer must be a powerful magnet in the high desert country. Gila appears to be playing cat and mouse with the photog here. Good job getting the focus on the main subject!
