American Goldfinch #6128

White Rock, NM

Carduelis tristis

Not many "unusual" birds showed up today -- mostly the finches, Juncos, and sparrows. This Goldfinch is delicately perched on a blackberry cane.

skhin -- Thanks for your comments. Yes, I find the 2x TC on the 300mm lens works just fine, especially if it's bright enough to stop down just a little. I was probably 12 meters away from the bird; before I web-sized the image, it had been cropped to 1546x1780 (from 3888x2592), so you're seeing about 25% of the original image. Bob W
