Looks like he was still reaching for it! Poor baby...but those darn balls, once they are thrown, and once they take off, well who knows where it will land. My girls are crazy like this all the time. At least these tennis balls are light. :)

Right on his eye .... it must have hurt! He's getting even bigger, and looks happy and healthy. Great shot.
