LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

Fort Worth, TX

Reporter, Joel Thomas, for Channel 11 News was near where I work reporting on a story. I have met the camera man before when there was a tornado that blew through Eagle Mountain Lake's Marina. We all chatted for a while and I got some pics of Joel doing his thing while being on camera.

Joel was reporting on a story about a woman and her friend who had several pipe bombs in the car and wanting to blow up something last weekend. They were caught after a chase and were being arraigned at the Federal Court House which you can see behind Joel. They are looking at the two as terrorists so they will be getting the maximum sentence if found guilty. Hope they lock them up for a long, long time.

I don't know the story, but it certainly sounds as though she should be kept away from the public.
Always good to get a media shot.

Thanks Cindy for your story accompanying the picture...
this brought me to the following thoughts
maybe these people need some help, something might have triggered them,
but the media have never an eye for the social elements in a story,
all what they wanted to do is hyping a story and earning money

Great capture, you don't miss anything going on out there.
Joel Thomas, sounds like Lowell Thomas, wonder if he's related.
Lowell Thomas was one of the first radio and television broadcasters.

Excellent find, great composition and looks good in B&W as well.
I notice he's working from notes, and there was me thinking these guys remembered it all.

Under the jail. We have to handle these cases with the strongest hand. I fear becoming a country dominated by the fear of such terror.
Guest 17-Feb-2010 13:00
they just wanted to blow a pipe!
