Day 44 - Intake Cam

South Berwick, ME

(775/365)
Well, the good news is I picked up the correct feeler gauges this past week. The bad news (and, it's not really 'bad'), my front intakes were out of spec. I got to pull more of my bike apart. Since I have the intake cam off, I decided it would make a good subject for today's PaD.
The actual 'bad' part was before I pulled this. I'd just started to settle in, I'd started the kerosene heater to get the chill out. I'd removed the front cylinder head cover, but not moved it out of the way. The CO/Smoke alarm went off and I realized that the kerosene heater was flaming (abnormal) so I jumped up to attend to the situation. When I got back, I forgot to check the status of the cylinder head cover before I turned the engine over. I posted a picture of the damage on Flickr.
