Already in 1610 at this spot there was a lighthouse from the period of the great Portugese discoveries.This construction is from 1864-1865.Height 28 meters and the reach is about 19 nautical miles.
Situated in the small commercial center"Casa da Guia"where are also a few cosy restaurants.

Most unusual lighthouse. In UK they are painted - different colours for different lighthouses.
